TUPS PreK Center at Franklin Opens Its Doors! 🐐❤️

The TUPS PreK Center at Franklin is officially open! We celebrated this exciting new chapter with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and welcomed our youngest learners into a bright, welcoming space created just for them.
The opening of the PreK Center is the result of the hard work and collaboration of our district leadership, Board of Education, staff, educators, families, and community. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life and create a place where our youngest Farmers can learn, grow, explore, and thrive.
We are excited for all that lies ahead for our PreK students as they begin their TUPS journey!

WELCOMING OUR NEW STAFF: A GREAT START TO THE SCHOOL YEAR

This year, our district proudly welcomed our newest staff members through a special New Staff Orientation designed to help them feel connected and informed about joining our schools. The orientation provided new employees with an opportunity to meet district school administrators, learn more about the district's mission and vision, and gain a better understanding of the many programs and services that support students and families.

One of the highlights of the orientation was a township tour that highlighted our schools and local community. We are excited about the experience, knowledge, and energy that our newest staff bring to our schools.

TUPS Welcomes Brandon McCall at Convocation

The Township of Union Public Schools invited Brandon McCall, Teen Truth motivational speaker, to address the staff at the recent convocation on September 1st. Brandon McCall has a passion for working with schools and has dedicated his life to helping students make positive choices. Since its inception, Teen Truth has impacted more than 12 million students and has a footprint in nearly 9000 schools. Mr. McCall provided energy and compassion when he spoke about a growth mindset and building strong relationships between teachers, staff, and students to help the Union community move forward together. This keynote presentation was selected from staff input selection based on a survey sent out to the district. Jill Hall, UHS SAC Counselor, recommended Brandon McCall to welcome all of our staff for a successful start to the school year.

Building Stronger Classrooms Through Sheltered Instruction Training

This year, administrators and staff members participated in professional learning focused on Sheltered Instruction, provided through Up the Bar. The training provided educators with practical strategies to make grade level instruction more accessible and engaging for multilingual learners while maintaining high academic expectations for all students. The professional development also encouraged staff to reflect on current classroom practices and identify ways to increase student engagement, participation, and access to rigorous curriculum. Our administrators and staff are committed to continuing to build their instructional capacity and to create classrooms where every student feels supported and empowered. The Sheltered Instruction training through Up the Bar is another important step in strengthening our district's commitment to equitable learning experiences for all our students.
