Due to the forecast of unusually high temperatures on Tuesday, May 19th, the Township of Union Public Schools will implement an early dismissal to prioritize the health and safety of students and staff.

All schools will follow their regular early dismissal schedules. Families are encouraged to check the school-specific dismissal times and transportation information that will be communicated by building principals. Instruction will be focused in the morning when temperatures are expected to be lower, while non-essential afternoon activities will be postponed or rescheduled for a later date. Staff members are asked to closely monitor students for signs of heat-related illness and to encourage frequent water breaks throughout the day.

We understand that schedule changes can be challenging for families, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we take these precautionary measures. Please make arrangements for your child’s supervision following early dismissal on Tuesday. If you have questions about dismissal procedures, aftercare, or transportation, feel free to contact your child’s school.
