August 25, 2026

Dear TUPS Community,

We are excited to welcome you back, and we hope you had a restful summer. As we approach the start of the 2026-2027 school year, the Technology Department would like to share important reminders and updates with you. Please review the following prior to the start of the school year.

Technology Acceptable Use Agreement Updates: Effective this school year, the Technology Acceptable Use Agreement must be acknowledged via Genesis each school year. Prior form acknowledgment will not carry over to the new school year. The 2026-2027 Technology Acceptable Use Agreement is anticipated to be available for acknowledgment via the Genesis Parent Portal prior to the start of the school year. If you previously acknowledged an older version of the agreement, you must acknowledge the new agreement. Once posted, please review and acknowledge the updated agreement via the Genesis Parent Portal
Please review our updated 26-27 SY TUPS Chromebook Parts Price List

Pending Chromebook balances: All current Chromebook-related charges must be paid in full by September 30, 2026. Chromebook-related charges are to be paid via PaySchools Central by visiting https://www.payschoolscentral.com or your Genesis Parent Portal

Payment Timeline (30 Days): Once the fine is added to Genesis, you have 30 days to make a payment. Loaner or repaired Chromebooks may be locked, without notice, if payment is not received within 30 days. Please note that payment options are available if needed. We appreciate your partnership and understanding of our payment timelines.

Chromebook Use Grades K-5: Effective this school year, all elementary Chromebooks will be held in designated classroom charging carts and available for student use throughout the school day. Chromebooks will not be taken home at the elementary level.

Chromebook Use Grades 6-12: Grades 6-12 will continue to use their district-issued Chromebooks throughout the day and take them home each day. Additional communications will be shared with our grades 6-12 students and families regarding the Chromebook redistribution plan and our new Device Protection Plan (DPP) offered.

TUPS BYOD Options: (Bring Your Own Device) - Chromebooks ONLY
TUPS will continue with our BYOD environment. This continued initiative will allow students to bring any personally owned Chromebook in place of a district-provided device, which will be enrolled in the district’s Google domain to ensure a consistent learning environment exists in the classroom. If your student currently has a district-provided device, it must be returned along with this BYOD Permission Form, completed, to add a student’s device to the BYOD network.

For details on these updates, as well as other technology information, please visit our technology page at TUPS.ORG. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to meet our students’ technology needs.
