As a public school system, we welcome all students who reside within the district's boundaries
and meet the state's age and health requirements.

Who Can Enroll? Only a parent or legal guardian is allowed to register a student in the Township of Union Public Schools. You must reside in a permanent home within the Township of Union.

Kindergarten: The child must be 5 years old on or before October 1 of the school year.
No exceptions will be made for children who do not meet this requirement.
First Grade: The child must be 6 years old on or before October 1, must have completed a Kindergarten program, and must be recommended for first grade by their teacher.

All documentation must be uploaded in PDF format during the online registration process.

Identification – Government-issued photo ID (parent/guardian)

Proof of Student Identity - Official/Original Birth Certificate (in English)

Proof of Residency - Choose from the following (must provide multiple forms):
Deed or Mortgage Statement
Current Municipal Tax Statement
Current Lease (must list all occupants)
- Three (3) Current Utility Bills (dated within 45 days):
Cable, Cell Phone, Credit Card, Electric, Gas, Water, Pay Stub,
Financial Statement, Car Insurance, etc.

Health Requirements
Health Packet - PreK - Grade 5
- Medical Release Form
Current Immunization Record & Health Profile (signed by a physician)

Academic Records
Transfer Card with NJ State ID Number
Transcripts / Most Recent Report Card (for placement)
Authorization for Release of Records:
Legal Documentation (if applicable)
IEP or Section 504 Plan
Court Custody Orders or State Agency Agreements
Guardianship Documentation (if not biological parent)

Residency Affidavits (if applicable)
The resident must provide a lease/mortgage and 3 utility bills. The parent/Guardian must provide three utility bills from the list above. The resident must attend the in-person appointment.

If your family will be moving out of the district at any time during the school year, you MUST officially withdraw your child/children from the district.

- TUPS Notification of Transfer UHS-High School form

- Academic Records
- Health Records
- Return of the district-owned Chromebook device
