Student Teaching in TUPS
Are you an education major looking to complete your student teaching? We’re proud to partner with Kean University, Seton Hall University, and Montclair State University to offer hands-on classroom experience in our diverse and supportive schools.
How to Apply
1. Talk to Your Advisor
Let your college advisor know you want to student teach in the Township of Union Public Schools.
2. University Sends a Request
Your school’s placement office must email a formal request on university letterhead to:

3. Placement Approval
If approved, we’ll find the best placement for you.
4. Final Confirmation
We’ll send the completed placement form back to your university and submit it for Board of Education approval.
5. University Notifies You
Your school will share the details of your final placement.
Required Documents
All student teachers must email the following:

Criminal History Background Check (archived to Union, Union County 39 5290)

Negative Mantoux Test result
-
Substitute Certificate (optional but encouraged)
🚫 You cannot begin your placement until all documents are submitted and approved by the Board of Education. No exceptions.
